Home Custom Fly Rods Custom Fly Rod Winding Checks

Nickel Silver and Aluminum Winding Checks

A winding check is a small ring that serves as a transition from the cork grip to the rod blank and which slips over the rod blank before the stripping guide is wrapped into place. Then, it is positioned between the front of the cork grip and the back of the decorative butt wrap. Also, winding checks are commonly made from either rubber, aluminum, or nickel-silver and are available with either polished or anodized finishes in your choice of several different colors.
